Midnight trainI walk along the railroad tracks. I see a post where sacks full of mail in the olden days once hung. I walk for one more hour and come to an old station over grown with flowers and weeds it didn’t look like it was needed. A bench where travelers once sat waiting on their train now only a lone man left sitting to my dismay. I go over to him and say “They don’t come this way anymore sir.” But he did not stir or even flinch not an inch. He just smiled at me and says “My dear is coming home to me on the midnight train. She told me to come and wait. I haven’t seen her since 44. I love her from my very core.Midnight train
poem 1Lighthouse by the sea bring the one I seek to thee. I wait for him in a snow white dress but yet he’s not around. I walk these grounds everyday and dear I wait for you. I go to the keeper of the light and say “Did you boat of red come roaring in on the wave last night?” He looks at me with solemn eyes and he says “ No my dear, I do fear his ship is lost at sea, there were wind and waves, he was brave but he went down with ship to his grave.” A tear rolls down my cheek and my knees get weak as I know you were to be back in June hoping it would be sooner then that. My poems simple not worth all the wait.
I keep writing hoping to make something great.
The writings though come out absured. The words always slurred.
My mind hurts by the time I'm done.
The writing consumes me and then flows on the page like a smoking gun.
The hole in my brain which makes me look insane as I go through the halls saying the words my head screams out loud.
The voices I hear above all the crowd.
My mental state weak the hope for me bleak.
